Important notes about the facility

While the Welia Center offers fantastic access to the walking track, fitness classes, and wellness programs, it does not include membership to a traditional gym with weights and heavy equipment. Welia Health recognizes that local businesses in the area specialize in gym memberships and fitness services that provide those types of resources, and the center aims to complement these services rather than compete with them. This makes the Welia Center an excellent choice for individuals looking to stay active with light equipment and fitness classes, but those seeking a whole gym experience may want to explore local gyms for more weightlifting and heavy equipment options.

Welia Center FAQs

Who is eligible for membership?

Can I bring my children?

Yes! Children under 18 can use the walking track for free when accompanied by a parent. The children remain under the responsibility of the member.

Can I bring guests?

Members may bring guests up to 6 times per year, with some restrictions. Guests must sign in at the main entrance and are prohibited during student hours for student safety (7:45 AM – 3:15 PM).

Is the facility for walking only?

The walking track also has a dedicated lane for runners, so both walkers and runners can enjoy the space.

Does the membership include a traditional gym?

No, the membership does not include access to a traditional gym with weights and heavy equipment. However, it does provide access to the walking track and the fitness room, which features Wellbeats classes, light equipment, and stationary bikes.

What forms of payment are accepted?

You can pay with cash, credit card, or check (payable to Mora Public Schools).

Will my insurance cover the membership fee?

Insurance coverage varies by provider. Keep your receipt and check with your insurance to see if you are eligible for reimbursement.

Why is a background check required?

A background check is a state requirement to ensure the safety of students who may be present in the facility while members are using it.

Why are colored beverages like Gatorade not allowed?

Colored liquids can stain the flooring, so they are prohibited to maintain the facility’s condition.

What should I do in case of a medical emergency?

Each facility level is equipped with phones to call 911, and an AED and first aid kit are available on both levels. Using the buddy system while using the walking track is also a good idea.

How can I report an incident (e.g., a fall or minor injury)?

Incident Report Forms are available at the main entrance. Completed forms can be returned to the District Office or mailed to 400 Maple Ave E, Mora, MN 55051.

What other options are available for members?

In addition to the walking track and fitness room, membership includes access to most Welia Health events and classes, though some specialized classes may have additional fees. Be sure to check the Mora Public Schools website for more details.

Does the Welia Center close during school events, and how does it affect parking?

The Welia Center may close or have limited access during large school events hosted by the school, which could affect your membership usage. Parking may also be more difficult on these days. While Welia Health can’t control school events, the district sends email updates about busy dates, so you can decide whether to visit. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility!
