A 13,000-square-foot investment in local healthcare

Welia Health is making a significant investment in the future of healthcare in Pine City with a 13,000-square-foot expansion of its Pine City Clinic. Designed to increase access to high-quality care while creating more space for patients and providers, the project reflects Welia Health’s commitment to making healthcare more accessible close to home. Once it’s finished, you’ll have double the number of exam rooms, a new specialized procedure room, a new laboratory and an expanded rehabilitation department—all right in Pine City.

As Garrett Estenson, Welia Health’s Co-Project Leader of the expansion, explained: “Having the ability to have increased services right in the Pine City Clinic leads to better convenience, fewer transportation challenges for our patients who live near Pine City.”

100% open throughout construction

Although construction is currently underway, you can continue receiving care without interruption. Every department inside the Pine City Clinic remains fully operational throughout the project, including Primary Care, Urgent Care, Rehabilitation Services and the Community Pharmacy.

Welia Health has carefully planned each phase of construction to ensure patients continue receiving the care they need. As Estenson shares, “Through this construction project, we have maintained all of our services within the building. What that means is we have not had to pause or discontinue any services. We’ve continued operations.”

Urgent Care hours also remain unchanged, with services available Monday through Friday from 7am–7pm and weekends from 9am–7pm.

Construction schedule 

The Pine City Clinic expansion is moving through a three-phase construction schedule that lets Welia Health continue serving patients throughout the project. The project is currently in Phase 2, which is scheduled to continue through August 27.

As Estenson noted, “Phase 1 involved building the new additions, which wrapped up in late April when we moved into Phase 2. Phase 2 focuses on tying the old building into the new additions, a process that will last until about August 27. We are already using the new spaces, but the middle spaces—where the old building and the new additions connect—are currently closed for remodeling and modernization. Phase 3 will begin on or about August 27, when the existing clinic and waiting room will be refreshed with the new interior design.

Three ways the expansion improves your care

1. More exam rooms and a new procedure room: Doubling the number of exam rooms and adding a specialized procedure room means more patients can be seen, with more close-to-home services.
   
2. Expanded rehabilitation services: The rehabilitation department is getting a major upgrade—a brand-new therapy gym, twice as many private treatment rooms and the area’s first outdoor therapy space. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, healing after an injury or improving mobility, the outdoor space will give you hands-on therapy in a realistic setting.
   
3. A more connected pharmacy: The Pine City Community Pharmacy is also being enhanced with a new interior doorway that creates a more direct connection between pharmacy services and the rest of the clinic, helping streamline workflows and making your experience even more convenient.
