Experience ‘Minnesota Nice’

Here’s what’s made Minnesota famous.

But here’s what makes it special.

  • The second-best state in the nation according to U.S. News and World Report (second to Iowa, and really, you’d rather be in Minnesota). Rankings were based on health care, education, economy, opportunity, infrastructure, crime and corrections, fiscal stability and quality of life.
  • Intensely educated, high culture center in the middle of the heartland. We lovingly refer to it as the Bold North, the land of sky blue waters, Sky-U-Mah, the North Star state or Star of the North, the State of Hockey, and the Gopher state.
  • Healthiest state by almost every measure (most active, longest living, etc.)
  • The most incredible natural beauty of any state in the lower 48.
  • Mind-blowing park and recreation system organized over 100 years ago, with the concept that no child ever be more than 1/4 mile away from a park to play in.
  • Strongly political, highest voter turnout of any state, one of the highest state rates of political volunteering.
  • The economy here is booming and stayed strong even through the recession.
  • Minneapolis has more theatre seats per capita than anywhere in the world except Broadway, and the theater community extends across the state.
  • It’s the most literate state in the US.
  • You can be right in the middle of downtown, drive for 40 minutes, and be in the middle of the woods or on a farm. Commute times are still awesome here.
  • But it’s the small-town charm that makes Minnesota and Minnesota Nice our favorite.
